The Wacken Open Air 2020 is all about Mesoamerica and the fascinating advanced civilizations of this region. Together with the fans, the festival will especially highlight and honour the cultures of the Maya and Aztecs. An important component of this is the adaptation of the Haab calendar, among other things to confirm new bands in its cycle.
This year the W:O:A will officially be held from 30.07.-01.08.2020, although there should be plenty to see and do in the big tent the day before, on 29.07. This is where the finals of the international Metal Battle Contest will take place.
Top acts invited are Slipknot, Judas Priest and Amon Amarth. Slipknot will have their premiere on the Holy Field of Northern Germany!
